Model Career Academy - NCAC (National Career Academy Coalition)
The NCAC believes in quality control for career academies. The NCAC performs academy review against the National Standards of Practice which leads to a national recognition. Academies can be recognized as model, certified or in progress. In order for an academy to reach NCAC's highest level of recognition an academy must meet or exceed proficiency in all 10 areas of the National Standard of Practice. Selected programs of study will exemplify excellence in the implementation of the Career Clusters, show a true progression from secondary to post-secondary education, provide meaningful work-based learning opportunities, and have a substantial and evidence-based impact on student achievement and success. |

To recognize our states finest STEM Schools and Programs, NC has developed an application process to identify and recognize exemplary STEM Schools and STEM Programs. The STEM Recognition Program provides elementary, middle, and high schools the opportunity to submit an application for review describing their schools distinguished approaches to leading and learning; implementing the 11 essential STEM Attributes as defined in the STEM Attribute Implementation Rubric. Schools/Programs demonstrating evidence they are implementing all Attributes of a quality STEM program at the "Prepared" or "Model" level will be recognized. |
